11 Excellent Earth Day Books For Kids

This is a round-up of 11 excellent Earth Day books for kids.

How do kids learn best? Through stories, imagination, and play. That’s why our family is so passionate about great books! Rather than sitting your kiddos down for a lesson on Earth Day, how about introducing them to the concept of loving our world through great storytelling?

I’d love to help! I’ve compiled a list of wonderful titles that feature kindness, sharing, empathy, and concern for the environment – all important values of Earth Day. The authors of these books are passionate about instilling peace and love into our world through the hearts of kids everywhere. You can see it on the pages and feel it as you read the words!

You’ll see books about caring for the planet, like Protector of the Ocean, featuring an adventurous girl and her pet turtle. Learn about how to reduce waste, reuse and share items in the story of The Little Green Jacket, which follows the path of a jacket as it’s donated and passed from person to person. You’ll also see stories about acceptance and love for those who are different, like Ada and the Helpers. Taking care of our earth also means taking care of the people in it, so you’ll see stories about dealing with bullies and getting along with classmates, like Dino Deegan and the Unpleasant Class

At its heart, Earth Day is about preserving our world in the best way we know how. We can teach our children in ways that capture their hearts, and introduce them to characters who show them the way. This next generation will be in charge of our planet and its people, and they should be prepared to do it with grace. Let’s show them the way through stories they can relate to, and enjoy along the way!

I’d love to know what you think of the books!
