15 Perfect Picture Books for Mother’s Day

This is a round-up of 15 Perfect Picture books for Mother’s Day.

I might be biased, but Mother’s Day is one of my favorite holidays! It’s a great opportunity to celebrate the incredible relationships I have with my children. Even though gifts and special treatment might be planned by other members of the family, mom can still plant the seeds by sharing some of these amazing books! If everyone is reading all about how amazing Mom is, they’ll be even more motivated to make Mother’s Day extra special!

Though a holiday dedicated to mothers is amazing, it can also bring up some painful elements for some kids. Non-traditional families may feel their differences heightened at this time, and families who have experienced challenges like chronic illness can feel an additional obstacle. That’s why, in this book roundup, I’ve included a wide range of titles to fit your family’s unique situation, and celebrate love in all its forms.

My hope is that you can discover new ways to grow closer as a family through the magic of reading. Themed book round-ups can be a great way to enforce special values with kids, as you read the same concepts through the eyes of different stories and characters.

These books show moms in the animal kingdom (All Mommies Love Their Babies), love in families who don’t fit the “mom and dad” mold (Donuts with Dad), and books that show how putting love into the world always brings love back to you (Love Grows Love). Choose these titles for your family library, or for gifts this Mother’s Day. There are two titles dedicated to moms and kids dealing with medical complexities, disabilities, and chronic pain: GIFT FROM GOD, and Wonder Mommy! No matter your circumstances this year, you’ll find something that will bring your family joy and help you celebrate the wonderful role of moms in our world!
