Mangonada Recipe: Mexico’s Favorite Frozen Treat

Looking for a delicious frozen treat that will transport you to Mexico? Look no further than the Mangonada – Mexico’s favorite frozen treat!

This popular Mexican dessert is made with mango sorbet, mango chunks, chamoy sauce, and Tajin chili powder for a sweet, tangy, and spicy kick. It goes by many names such as Chamoyada, Mangoneada, Chamango – but they’re all the same and perfect for cooling down on a hot day or satisfying your sweet tooth.

The chamoy sauce plays a special part in the desserts overall flavor. It is a salty condiment made from pickled fruit, and it enhances the flavor of the mango without overpowering it. Mangonadas are also considered a healthy dessert, as they are packed with powerful vitamins and antioxidants.

The Mangonada originated in the streets of Mexico in the early 1990s, where the climate is perfect for growing Mangoes. Mangoes have been a part of Mexican cuisine for centuries, and the Mangonada is a recent invention that combines three traditional Mexican flavors– the sweetness of mango with the tartness of lime and the spiciness of tajin.

While the combination of these three flavors may seem unlikely, they actually work together perfectly to create a refreshing and satisfying treat. So grab a spoon and get ready to enjoy this tasty treat!
