Kalahari Resorts: The Perfect Family Getaway
If you haven’t been to Kalahari Resorts & Conventions, you’re missing out! Kalahari is a wonderful place to create memories together with family or friends. We have been to Kalahari more than a handful of times. We actually go at least twice a year because we love it so much. Once in the summer and once in the winter for the holidays. And if you didn’t know, Kalahari was actually voted the “world’s coolest indoor waterpark,” and it definitely lives up to its name. There’s a lot to check out and lots to do. With over 125,000 square feet filled with wet, wild, and fun, there is something for everyone in the family!
Things to Do at Kalahari Resort
First and foremost – everyone always asks us what there is to do at Kalahari. And I always respond, what is there NOT to do!!! There is no shortage of activities to wear out the kiddos. There are tons of rides and slides that are so much fun. One of the kid’s favorite rides is the Flowrider. It tests your body boarding or “surfing” skills on a 5-foot wave simulator.
Another family favorite is the Lazy River. It is always nice to take a little break from the waterslide action and wind down the lazy river with the family. My kids also love the endless waterslides! The Master Blaster is a 570-foot water coaster, and the kids go on it over and over again.
But there is more to Kalahari than just the water park. It is a must to hit up the Big Game Room Arcade! It is jam-packed with games, rides, experiences, and prizes for all ages!
This awesome arcade has nearly 200 games to choose from as well as two highly themed Escape Rooms. You can also experience virtual reality like never before! The Arena Ultimate VR Experience is incredible!
But I think my kid’s favorite part of this wonderful game room arcade is redeeming their tickets for prize points at the prize counter. There are so many toys and treasures for the kids to choose from, and I’m not going to lie; I have picked a few things for myself as well!
Okay, so we haven’t talked about the dining experiences yet! Food is very important! One of our family favorites is the Wisconsin Brew Pub. They have some of the most amazing shakes and desserts. The S’MORES are a must-have and are designed to eat at the table. There is also the Ivory Coast Restaurant and waterpark dining, to name a few. Trust me, you will never have to leave to find dining or order out when you are at Kalahari because there will always be options!
One of my favorite parts about Kalahari – I can pamper myself if I need it during our stay. At the Spa Kalahari & Salon, you can relax and rejuvenate your mind, body, and spirit. You can relax in the Halotherapy Salt Room or workout in the Fitness & Training room. P.S. They also have junior packages where your little princesses can do a mani, pedi, facial, or all three!
And who can forget the shopping! There are several retail shops where you can find cool Kalahari logo-wear and casual apparel, an amazing selection of toys, and everything you’ll need to hit the waterparks in style!

It’s been a few years since we’ve been to a Kalahari Resort, but I wouldn’t mind going again during the holidays.
